Why Badges and Banners?
After writing, collecting articles and generally working at about 6 hours on average a day on my Aotearoa A Wider Perspective blog for the last 9 years, the circumstances that allowed me to do so free of charge changed. While I welcome the change as a positive one it forced me to rethink my position and how I wanted to be able to keep on doing what I was doing on my blog as well as generate an income that would allow me to do so.
I had the option to ask for donations but I don't like to be beholden to people giving donations and perhaps wanting a say in what I chose to put on my blog and I decided that it would be much more fun if I could provide my readers with a way of generating talking points and expressing their opinions in ways that would generate debate in the real world on the issues that should matter to us all.
As luck would have it I was mentioned in a will of someone who passed a way 4 years previously and I was able to invest in a top of the range embroidery/sewing machine and a professional software program to enable me to design embroidery and it made sense to combine two of my many passions; Politics and Embroidery!
In this shop I present the overlap between the two in the hopes of supplying my readers in need of an easy way to let their opinions be known with badges and banners which can simply be ironed onto caps, sleeves, bags and other wearables to get the message out there!
These badges are all designed, embroidered and finished by me and made in my own workshop. For the time being I only offer the badges as advertised to keep my time manageable and get a feel for how things are going but as time progresses who knows where it might lead!
